Who We Are.

Hi, I'm Katherine Morua

The Founder Of The Morua Foundation

Katherine, an electrical engineer, turned renewable energy entrepreneur, has spent the last two decades helping huge projects happen. From designing and implementing next-generation power systems for utilities, NASA and military applications, to moderating symposiums with Presidential appointees, she has worked with decision makers in a wide range of technology landscapes. She founded Morua Power with the purpose of creating resilience and sustainability for the planet but after working in microgrid development and getting to know the people in the communities, she realized there weren’t systems in place to advocate for the community’s needs once the project was done. "They needed a plan to help them rebuild not just their electricity but their lives.”

No one was there to make sure the project’s renewable energy benefits translated to the families in the community. This deep interest in seeing real results and to plant seeds for generational change is what led her to establish the Morua Power Foundation, to build a just and equitable world, by connecting communities to power, both literally and figuratively. Katherine is passionate about coming together to create a massive shift in the world and amplifying the message of love, unity and higher consciousness.

But most importantly to a family full of love, compassion, with a very diverse origin story and a common tie that bound their family and ancestral line together: the dream of opportunity. Both Victor’s and Betty’s family worked in agriculture and Betty’s dad was the first one to get a formal education, which led him to become the president of a university in Medellin Colombia for many years.

Betty Morua

If you’ve met Betty, you would know she is always the advocate for the ones who need the most and always so full of love and compassion. She is instrumental in building a sense of community and using her intuitive senses to connect needs to solutions in deep and profound ways.

Betty is very familiar with the education system and keeps a pulse on the current needs of the communities we serve.

Victor Morua

Victor has always believed that living a productive life goes beyond philosophical discussions; life should be practical and use hands on training so people can profit as they learn. “In order to really help someone you need to not just help them one time, but create a system that truly empowers the community and provides for them not just one time but many times over.” He has expertise in agriculture, construction, mechanics, pastoral work and a highly sought after marketing expert.
